CNPD Statement -
Following heated discussions between artist James Cauty and the CNPD's marketing team regarding the worthiness of February's Stamps of the Month, the CNPD Postmaster General has ordered an immediate and total withdrawal of The Great 1967 Postal Revolution Commemorative Stamps.
The heated discussion is reported to have gone something like this:
"They're rubbish" said James Cauty, "Just decorative twaddle!"
"Yeah... but so what?" replied the marketing team, "They're selling and we need the cash!"
An official statement from the CNPD reads:
We are an artist lead institution and have decided to comply fully with Cauty's demands that the stamps in question be withdrawn from sale. We think it important that artists as a minority are listened to and are keen to see that no more puerile art is hoisted on an already saturated market. For those that have already bought the Revolution Stamps, we can only offer our full apology and offer to refund anyone who wishes to return them.
As a result of this dispute our planned Stamp of the Month for March has also been binned whilst Cauty re-thinks his creative direction and researches a little known avant-garde art group known as the Armchair Destructivists. We will however be issuing a poster edition only print of the 'Copyright Police" piece that Cauty thinks might be OK. This will be issued for just one day at the end of the month.
Full details will be issued by the PMG very soon.
